Someone asked: Why does a deposit have to wait for several confirmations?
I usually answer like this: Bitcoin produces a block about every 10 minutes, so the commonly cited 6 confirmations take roughly an hour. The more blocks are built on top of a transaction, the more blocks would have to be redone to alter it, making it less likely to be reversed.
