How do liquidations happen? A long liquidation means a leveraged long position is forcibly closed, usually when prices fall. Short liquidations are the opposite and tend to happen during rallies.
When liquidations are happening across the board, rather than guessing where the market will go next, it’s better to first check how close your own position is to its liquidation price.
