Delays aren’t a bad thing; pushing ahead regardless is.

The launch of Ethereum’s Glamsterdam upgrade on the Hoodi testnet has been delayed. ChainSecurity says it has identified 13 real-world smart contracts that could be affected by changes to the upgrade’s gas rules, and is coordinating with the relevant projects on responsible disclosure.

According to Cointelegraph, the upgrade was originally scheduled for October 26. The delay will give developers time to investigate how some proposals interact with already-deployed contracts. The contracts at risk are older ones that hardcode gas amounts into liquidation, oracle, or arbitrage logic. Under the new rules, they could miscalculate or even become stuck.

Two things to watch: first, whether affected contracts can be migrated before the fork; second, whether the mainnet timeline will also change.

Are you more focused on migration progress or the mainnet timeline?
