Crypto 101: Maintenance Margin and Leverage Tiers
Maintenance margin is the minimum margin required to keep a position from being liquidated. For Binance USDⓈ-M contracts, it is calculated as: notional value × maintenance margin rate − maintenance amount.
If you increase your leverage, the adjustment will fail if your existing position exceeds the maximum notional value allowed for the new leverage tier.
