BTC falling below $81,000 tonight doesn’t surprise me.
I’ve been watching this setup since last night, and it’s been saying the same thing all along: retail traders are piling into longs, while market makers are waiting to liquidate them. Look at the LSR: 67% of retail accounts are long. At times like this, that’s often not a reversal signal—it’s the prelude to a hunt. Funding rates have just fallen from 0.01% to 0.004%, which shows that long positions are being closed, but not quickly enough.
BTC is currently at $80,834. It’s already failed to reclaim its intraday high of $82,060. I’m watching two downside target zones: first, the daily liquidation cluster around $79,200; second, the broader support zone at $77,400. My short strategy hasn’t changed: wait for a bounce into the $81,600–$81,900 range to add to the position, with a stop-loss above $82,750.
ETH is also bearish, currently at $2,377, with targets at $2,340 → $2,300. Compared with BTC, ETH has fallen more sharply this time, showing clear weakness. I don’t recommend trying to buy the dip against the trend.
Weekend liquidity is thin. This kind of market tends to grind slowly, with the occasional wick. Don’t chase—wait for the right levels. No trade without a confluence setup.
If you’re still long, have you set your stop-loss? If the key level below $80,500 doesn’t hold, reduce your position. Let the system decide, not your feelings.
