I was asked: What are blobs, and how do they make Layer 2 cheaper?
My answer: The Fusaka upgrade in December 2025 introduced PeerDAS, which lets nodes sample just part of the blob data. The blob limit was also raised afterward. Blobs are cheap because their data is kept for only about 18 days rather than permanently, and isn’t processed by the EVM, which means a much lighter burden on nodes.
