NVIDIA and TCV double down on AI video unicorn Higgsfield
Higgsfield announced on 10/23 that it had completed an extension of its Series B financing, with TCV and NVIDIA joining as new investors (company press release/Bloomberg). The amount raised and the latest valuation were not disclosed. In August, the Series B led by DST reportedly raised about $400 million at a valuation of around $5.4 billion. The company says it has over 40 million users and that its annualized revenue run rate topped $1 billion in September (both figures are company-reported). Its engineering team is mainly based in Kazakhstan, coinciding with Jensen Huang’s first visit to Astana during AI Month.
【View】Publicly traded AI stocks were just hit over Meta’s capital spending, while private markets are still doubling down on the application layer. NVIDIA is both selling the picks and shovels and investing in customers—a signal of confidence in demand for generative video, and a reminder that the computing-power supply chain and content applications remain closely intertwined.
【Opportunities/Risks】Watch whether Anthropic’s expected IPO filing next week and earnings from Microsoft/Google/Amazon can shore up the AI valuation narrative; volatility in rendering- and computing-related sectors may increase. Be alert to the risk of a mismatch in valuation expectations given the undisclosed financing amount.
