Ethereum postponed the Glamsterdam upgrade on the Hoodi testnet. What do traders need to know?

The original date was October 26, but no new deadline has been set. The reason is technical and serious: EIP-8037, which changes how gas fees are calculated, raised concerns about compatibility with existing smart contracts. Researchers found contracts in real-world use that could be affected by call failures and gas limits.

What this means in practice:
The mainnet and ETH holders’ wallets are completely safe. The delay is only on the testnet. Users don’t need to take any action.
For the price, this creates uncertainty around the timeline, but it is not a confirmed negative event.

My view:
Postponing the upgrade for security reasons is a mature decision that protects Ethereum’s long-term credibility. In the short term, the market reaction should be ignored in favor of analyzing volume and sentiment. The next real catalyst will be the revised testing schedule.

Is this responsible risk management or a roadblock for the ETH roadmap?
