$SPACEX’s recent strength is essentially the convergence of three bullish narratives: wireless network expansion is fueling infrastructure expectations, rising demand for AI computing power is boosting expectations for its satellite and data businesses, and the market is repeatedly repricing the possibility of a merger with Tesla. 80,000 base stations, Grok’s commercialization, and SI revenue growth are all reinforcing the bullish case.

But short-term pressures are just as real. A pullback in AI stocks could dampen risk appetite, while high-yield bonds are driving up financing costs. CoreWeave’s debt issues have raised market concerns about credit risk across the computing-power supply chain. SPCX bond yields have risen to 8.3%, and, combined with the regulatory uncertainty surrounding tokenized shares, this leaves the price prone to sharp swings in both directions between narrative and reality.

My view: At this point, it’s unwise to focus only on the story, but high interest rates alone aren’t enough to dismiss the trend altogether. Three things matter most: whether AI capital expenditure continues to expand, whether bond yields can stabilize, and whether there is tangible progress on merger expectations. If the narrative fails to translate into cash flow, a pullback could come quickly; if financing pressures ease, investors may once again assign a higher valuation.
