Does Solana's Alpenglow upgrade make it the fastest chain and revive $SOL ?

What Alpenglow changes
Solana activated Alpenglow on mainnet on October 21, replacing TowerBFT. Anza’s reported target is to reduce deterministic finality from about 12.8 seconds to around 150 milliseconds. That’s a substantial improvement in settlement certainty, but finality is not the same as throughput or block-propagation speed. So the upgrade alone doesn’t establish that Solana is fastest on every metric or in every real-world condition.

Does it revive SOL?
Not yet on the evidence here. SOL was around $104 on October 23; it was up slightly over 24 hours but down about 8% over 30 days. The activation event itself was accompanied by a roughly 1.6% one-day decline in the event data, so the launch hasn’t produced a clear, sustained repricing. The upgrade can strengthen Solana’s product and adoption case, but a durable token rebound still needs demand and market confirmation.

Technically, SOL is consolidating near $104–105 after a pullback from above $108 earlier in the week. Momentum is roughly neutral; a sustained move above nearby resistance would improve the short-term picture, while losing the recent $103–104 area would weaken it. This is a range-bound read, not a confirmed breakout

Bottom line: bullish for Solana’s settlement capability; not a standalone buy signal for $SOL . I’d look for adoption evidence and a price reclaim with follow-through before calling it a revival
