🐂 Futu Opens BNB Deposits and Withdrawals: A Gateway Between Brokerage Accounts and the Blockchain

On October 23, Futu NiuNiu officially announced that it had opened BNB deposit and withdrawal services. CZ reposted the announcement shortly afterward, and the post has since received around 220,000 views on X.

First, make sure you understand the rules—don't just read the headline:

🔹 Available only to eligible professional investors (PIs) in Hong Kong; news roundups put the asset threshold at around HK$8 million
🔹 Uses BNB Smart Chain (BEP20) to transfer funds between self-custody wallets and Futu crypto accounts
🔹 According to community posts, the minimum deposit is 0.0002 BNB and the minimum withdrawal is 0.010055 BNB
🔹 Withdrawals can only be sent to whitelisted addresses. News roundups say they are processed by 6 p.m. on the third business day, with a network fee of around 0.000055 BNB

According to community posts, Futu launched BNB trading in July; this update adds deposits and withdrawals.

My take: the significance is in the “gateway,” not the “buzz.” A licensed brokerage allowing crypto to move on and off the blockchain shows that compliance and on-chain services can work together. But T+3 processing, whitelisted addresses, and the PI eligibility threshold also make this a narrow gateway that most everyday users can't access for now. Also, “supported by Futu Hong Kong” does not mean that all moomoo users worldwide can use it—a point some people have already flagged.

One more thing to watch out for: as soon as the news broke, several news-themed tokens using names associated with “NiuNiu” popped up on BSC. The news is real, but that doesn't mean tokens trading on the name have any connection to Futu. These tokens often rise fast—and fade even faster.

Would you be willing to wait a few extra days for a compliant withdrawal, or are you more used to instant withdrawals from exchanges?
