Boerse Stuttgart Group secures Europe’s first DLT TSS licence for an exchange group.
Germany’s BaFin has granted Boerse Stuttgart Group a licence for its distributed ledger trading and settlement system (DLT TSS) under the EU DLT Pilot Regime, with ESMA and the European Central Bank also involved in the approval process. According to the official announcement, it is the first exchange group in Europe to receive this licence. It lays the groundwork for Seturion, the group’s cross-border settlement platform for tokenised assets, which banks, brokers and trading venues can connect to. Connected venues can trade tokenised assets without having to apply for their own DLT licence.
Its partners already include flatexDEGIRO, Nasdaq, Société Générale and SG-FORGE. Europe’s post-trade settlement infrastructure has long been fragmented along national lines; this licence marks another step towards bringing on-chain settlement into regulated infrastructure.
