Two big moves: Coinbase lets AI place trades directly, and a16z’s crypto fund gets a new name.

According to media reports, Coinbase has launched “Everything Exchange”: AI models such as Claude, ChatGPT, Grok, and Muse can trade crypto, U.S. stocks, and derivatives on the same interface—with fractional shares starting at $1 and zero commissions. With the x402 protocol, AI can use the same balance to pay for data and inference, with spending limits set by the user.

On October 22, a16z Crypto was renamed a16z Frontier. Its fifth fund, worth $2.2 billion, is expanding beyond crypto to include AI products, autonomous machines, and human-agent networks. Dixon said this was an expansion, not a retreat. On the same day, Ali Yahya, a crypto partner at a16z, left to launch an AI infrastructure startup. Reported by CoinDesk.

As major players build the rails and VCs put up the money, AI agents are moving from concept to real trading volume, with DeAI infrastructure capturing the traffic first (ICP interest on Plaza is also rising).

Would you let AI handle your trades? Would you trust a machine with your money?

Personal opinion, not investment advice.
