The most outrageous revolving-door smoking gun: Tether was paying a company owned by White House crypto adviser Bo Hines while waiting for him to help write the stablecoin bill.

The Wall Street Journal dug it up first: while Hines was still serving as Trump’s crypto policy adviser, Nxum—the company he co-founded with his dad—received several million dollars in consulting fees from Tether. Then he left and went straight to become Tether’s U.S. CEO.

On Thursday, Senator Blumenthal formally wrote to both companies, demanding payment records, crypto wallet addresses, and lobbying communications by November 3. His exact words: paying a sitting White House official and having him shape legislation that benefits your own business is “highly unusual.”

Tether’s response: We conducted an internal review. Nothing wrong here.

The wildest part: Nxum recently also hired another White House crypto adviser, Harry Jung. This revolving door is spinning smoothly.

The comment section is taking bets: Team A says consulting fees are consulting fees, and a CEO is a CEO. Do you buy it? Team B says Democrats investigate Trump, Trump investigates Tether—this script never ends.
