🧭 Crypto Market
1️⃣ Bitcoin fell below $82,000 (briefly dropping below $81,000 and coming under pressure at the $80,000 level), while ETH fell below $2,400. The total crypto market cap shed about $100 billion in a single day. Meanwhile, spot BTC ETFs bucked the trend and attracted inflows of about $528 million in one day and over $1 billion over three days. Do you think this is the beginning of a bull market?
2️⃣ Looking across the broader market, Zcash (ZEC) held up relatively well. After climbing from about $193 to around $1,690 (nearly 9x), it pulled back to about $1,125. The privacy and quantum-security narratives continued to attract some rotating capital during the pullback.
3️⃣ Zipcoin announced it was shutting down after its codebase and private keys were fully leaked, and plans to liquidate its remaining tokens. Another stark warning about project security and private-key management.
📌 U.S. Stock Market
1⃣ The Nasdaq plunged about 2.6% (nearly 700 points), while the Dow was essentially flat. Tech stocks were battered and chip stocks sold off, while gold prices approached $4,000.
2⃣ Individual stocks saw sharp divergence: Meta fell nearly 7%, SpaceX plunged more than 9%, AMD dropped 8.1%, Nvidia and Amazon fell more than 4%, Google and Tesla slipped about 3%, and Oracle fell 2.8%. Apple bucked the trend, rising 1.23%.
3⃣ Crypto-related stocks such as Circle (CRCL) came under pressure as BTC pulled back. The correlation between crypto assets and risk appetite in U.S. stocks amplified the move—but prices still haven't fallen to my buy-the-dip level~~
4️⃣ The three major indexes moved in different directions (the Dow edged up while the Nasdaq plunged), gold prices approached $4,000, and oil prices remained strong. Looks like we'll have to wait for international tensions to ease.
🌍 International Highlights
1⃣ International oil prices surged, with Brent crude breaking above $113. U.S.-Iran sanctions and geopolitical risks continued to drive up the energy risk premium.
2⃣ Asia-Pacific stock markets plunged across the board, following the sell-off in U.S. tech stocks. Global risk assets retreated in tandem—BTC still looks relatively resilient by comparison.
💻 IT · AI Technology
1⃣ AI hardware stocks pulled back again: A-share listed Yuanjie Technology fell nearly 10%, while the STAR Market Chip ETF benchmark index dropped more than 3%, echoing the global sell-off in U.S. AI chip stocks (AMD fell 8.1%).
2⃣ DeepSeek completed a 100-billion-yuan funding round, with Tencent and CATL continuing to increase their investments. Capitalization of domestic large language models is accelerating. Keep it up, Liang Sheng! Hope we can use a good homegrown AI model soon.
3⃣ Competition among AI agents intensified following the launch of Anthropic Claude Duet; the sell-off in U.S.-listed AI stocks sparked discussion about valuation resets.
