BTC lost the $83,000 level overnight, dragging ETH and SOL down more than 3% as the key $81,000 mark came under threat.
$BTC is at 81,390, down 3.35% over 24 hours, after briefly nearing 80,800.
$ETH is at 2,391, down 3.75% over 24 hours, failing to hold above 2,400.
$SOL is at 103.87, down 3.45% over 24 hours, with $100 now a key battleground.
DOGE is at 0.0789, barely moving.
An interesting hedge: U.S. spot BTC ETFs have seen net inflows for three straight days, but Bitfinex notes that ETF investors’ average cost basis is 84,333, leaving BTC underwater. Ahead of the FOMC meeting on October 28, BTC is expected to trade in a range of 81,300–84,400. On top of that, the cloud of a “suspected hack” at CoinDCX has yet to clear, so exchange security is something to keep a close eye on.
What do you think—is a break below 81,000 the final panic-driven exit, or a trap before a rebound?
