🧊 Ansem is getting cautious too: What should we watch when a crypto influencer changes tack?

A little after 5 a.m. Beijing time this morning, well-known Solana trader Ansem posted that he’d been pretty bullish lately, but was now ā€œmore cautiousā€ about the market.

Here’s the gist of what he said:
šŸ”¹ BTC, ETH, and SOL are all near key support levels
šŸ”¹ Shorting at these levels is especially tricky
šŸ”¹ He’d rather manage risk, take profits where appropriate, stay flexible, and avoid forcing trades

Within a few hours, the post had around 87,000 views, over 500 likes, and nearly 200 replies.

One interesting detail: Someone on X dug up an old interview from November 2023. Back then, SOL was around $56, and Ansem said that if SOL were repriced above $100, it would create a ā€œwealth effect.ā€ Now SOL is hovering just above $100, after being pushed back from around $108 a few days ago.

My take:
A major influencer turning cautious isn’t a sell signal in itself—he also said that shorting here is difficult. The real lesson is the order of his actions: first recognize where the price is, then decide whether to add, take profits, or wait on the sidelines—instead of forming a view first and looking for reasons to justify it.

One more thing: That same day, he also posted about a synthetic BTC/ETH trading platform offering up to 1,000x leverage. Being ā€œcautiousā€ and using high leverage can coexist, because a major influencer’s positions and capital are completely different from yours. It’s easy to copy someone’s opinions; what you can’t copy is their position management.

If support doesn’t hold, how much can your current position withstand? Would you follow the influencer and reduce your position, or stick to your own plan? Let’s discuss in the comments šŸ‘‡
