According to Jin10, a Wall Street Journal analysis said Iran has warned that if the United States and Israel resume airstrikes, Tehran will retaliate against U.S. military bases and warships, as well as airports, oil pipelines, and other civilian targets in Gulf countries. Iran delivered the warning through public statements and private diplomatic communications, apparently seeking to deter any potential attack with forceful rhetoric. The analysis said the warnings also indicate Iran has the capacity to pose a threat: it retains large stockpiles of missiles and drones and can use them to launch attacks. Analysts estimate that Iran has hundreds to thousands of ballistic missiles. U.S. and regional officials believe Iran has used stored components to resume small-scale ballistic missile production at underground facilities. Meanwhile, air defense interceptor stocks used by U.S. and Arab forces to counter incoming attacks have been declining, and Israel’s interceptor supplies are also under pressure.
