Came across this on PR Newswire: Chainlink has signed a strategic partnership with LG CNS, the IT arm of the LG Group, to integrate oracle, cross-chain, and orchestration capabilities into LG CNS’s institutional digital asset platform, targeting South Korea’s roughly $68 billion digital asset market.

Key details: LG CNS is the main contractor for Project Hangang, South Korea’s digital currency infrastructure project. Phase one is expected to serve around 80,000 customers across seven banks. The partnership has three parts: adding Chainlink cross-chain, data, and orchestration capabilities to the platform; jointly promoting technical standards for digital assets in South Korea; and helping local institutions build compliant stablecoin and tokenized securities channels. The article also says that potential stablecoin users in South Korea number more than 11 million.

South Korea is already Asia’s second-largest digital asset market, and won-denominated trading volume often trails the dollar closely. Adding a standardized oracle layer on the institutional side looks more like laying the groundwork for stablecoins and RWAs than just signing a letter of intent.
