Michael Burry again criticized the AI investment boom on Thursday, sharing a song that predicts data centers built by major technology companies with trillion-dollar investments will eventually become obsolete. According to Sina Finance, Burry shared the track, written by a friend of his Substack column “Cassandra Unchained,” on the column and his YouTube channel, along with the full lyrics; he praised it as “very good” and “extremely well produced.”

The song is narrated from the perspective of an AI model and suggests that improvements in model efficiency will make data-center infrastructure outdated. Its lyrics repeatedly invoke “compression,” describe customer data as locked in tech companies’ closed systems, and compare the rush to buy GPUs to a nuclear arms race. Burry asked at the end of his post, “Catchy, isn’t it?”

The song’s message aligns with Burry’s investment positions. He holds various bearish positions involving Tesla, Caterpillar, Applied Materials, the iShares Semiconductor ETF, and Palantir. In November 2025, he compared Nvidia to Cisco during the AI boom, referring to Cisco’s collapse after the dot-com bubble burst.
