Bitcoin-backed preferred stocks fueled the purchase of 135,979 BTC in just over a year, according to a new report from Fidelity Digital Assets.
The chart shows that, by October 5, this investment strategy accounted for more than 0.5% of the total Bitcoin supply. Between March and May alone, issuing companies raised more than US$ 7 billion to acquire over 95,000 BTC.
Fidelity warns that the strategy is sustainable only if the asset’s appreciation exceeds the cost of the yield. This trend attracts income investors who previously didn’t buy Bitcoin directly but are now doing so through dividend-paying stocks. 📈💰
