Dogecoin: Dogecoin Labs launches to develop DOGE use cases
Dogecoin Labs wants to give DOGE a new dimension. Created with the Dogecoin Foundation, the company brings together the MyDoge wallet, the DogeOS platform, and Such App, which is dedicated to merchant payments. At the helm, Jordan Jefferson aims to create a true ecosystem of applications around the cryptocurrency. But there is still a way to go between the ambitions on display and real-world use cases.
Dogecoin Labs brings together three complementary products: MyDoge, DogeOS, and Such App.
Jordan Jefferson leads this new organization, which takes over the teams and intellectual property contributed by the Foundation and House of Doge.
MyDoge has more than 500,000 users without paid acquisition, while DogeOS opened its public testnet on September 30.
Three tools to accelerate DOGE adoption
The Dogecoin community often reacts to the slightest signal from its historical figures, as demonstrated by its co-founder’s cryptic message in September. This time, the initiative takes a more concrete turn. On October 21, DogeOS and the Dogecoin Foundation announced the creation of Dogecoin Labs, with Jordan Jefferson, founder of MyDoge and DogeOS, as its CEO.
Each product has a specific role in this strategy. MyDoge allows the general public to manage their DOGE, DogeOS provides the infrastructure needed for applications, and Such App facilitates merchant payments. Its beta version already supports payments in DOGE for goods and services, particularly through invoicing and in-store QR codes.
The new organization also separates responsibilities. The Foundation continues its work on open-source software and protocol development, while Dogecoin Labs focuses on commercial activities and product development.
