Whoa, I just saw that the Principal’s Square account was permanently banned (only the Square account, not the Binance account). It seems it had only recently been reinstated. Maybe some fans who paid for votes didn’t get their money back, so they turned around and reported him 🥶
The Principal was just too naive, posting stuff like this publicly on Square. As far as I know, quite a few people really do pay for votes behind the scenes. But it’s none of my business, so let’s not worry about it too much. We can’t cut off the airdrop farmers’ source of income either—after all, some people are willing to pay to win this honor. This sort of thing is also very hard for Binance to investigate unless someone reports it or goes undercover to gather evidence, so there’s no point arguing about whether it’s fair.
To put it bluntly, apart from a few top-tier streamers, like @颜驰Bit @天晴ETH @Btc星辰 , everyone else either pays for votes or teams up with top streamers from different niches to campaign for votes. That’s because livestream audiences are highly engaged and easier to rally. Otherwise, it’s really hard to get votes just by posting and calling for support in chat rooms.
Still, the process is actually a good thing. Whether or not you get selected, it raises your profile. If you want to build a presence on Square, I’d still recommend taking part. Don’t focus on the result—you’ll gain something either way.
