Only 2/26 are still rising; $BTC 81,600 is down 2.44%, so I’m leaning bearish.
The vast majority of the top 250 are in the red. Only small caps like $AI are holding up, gaining +6.28%, while major market players are clearly pulling out. $IOST has plunged 45%—that kind of selling speed shows short-term sentiment has already collapsed, with no buyers stepping in.
Looking at futures, the BTC long/short ratio is 1.92, and ETH’s is as high as 3.30. Long positions are getting a bit crowded, so even a slight red candle could trigger a cascade of liquidations. ETH funding is still positive at +0.0015%, which suggests longs haven’t bailed yet. But spot is falling faster than futures, and that kind of divergence usually means the big players are distributing.
Last night, Drift was drained of $122 million worth of ETH, and today the WAX bridge was hit for over 50,000 USDC. Security incidents keep piling up, so risk appetite is bound to take a hit. Trying to buy the dip in this kind of market is like catching a falling knife. I’m planning to try a small short around 81,000–80,500. If the price breaks below the 80,000 round-number level on high volume, this view is invalidated, and I’ll take the loss and exit immediately.
If support holds, I’ll first look for 79,500, then 79,000. In this kind of market, keeping your hands off and avoiding losses is a win. Don’t get itchy fingers just because you see others losing.
