What is sharding, and why can it improve blockchain performance? No worries, our class study rep has the answer:
In a sharded blockchain, each node only needs to process transactions from some of the shards, so the processing capacity of the entire network increases with the number of shards.
The tricky part of sharding is security: each shard is managed by only a subset of validators, making it easier for attackers to concentrate their efforts on a single shard than to attack the entire chain.
Knowledge may seem boring when things are going smoothly, but you’ll appreciate it when you hit a snag.
