On October 15, Metric opened its public pools on Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Robinhood Chain. After 5 days, the team reported $11M in TVL and $1.2B in trading volume, nearly $500M of which came from tokenized stocks.
First, a few hard numbers
1. $252M in 24-hour volume, $1.75B over 7 days, $4.48B over 30 days, and around $23.7B cumulatively.
2. TVL is just $14.13M. The 30-day volume-to-TVL ratio is around 318x, with average daily turnover close to 18x.
3. Cumulative volume surpassed $10B on August 7, after a long period of quiet operation. The public launch only happened in the past week.
4. 30-day volume by chain: $1.29B on BNB Chain, $930M on Base, $610M on Polygon, $610M on Ethereum, and $580M on Robinhood Chain.
Tokenized stocks are the main source of volume—not meme coins.
Why can the same amount of capital generate so much volume?
Metric separates pricing and liquidity into two layers. The Price Provider supplies buy, sell, and reference prices, while liquidity is placed in percentage-based ranges on either side of the reference price. As the reference price moves, all ranges automatically follow. LPs don't need to rebalance, and there are no stale quotes repeatedly picked off by arbitrage bots like with traditional AMMs.
There are three developments worth noting.
On October 20, a star badge labeled “Earns Metric points” began appearing on frontend swap quotes. Only Metric's own routing gets the badge; swaps through aggregators don't count.
On October 21, the referral program launched.
