According to Jin10, Saudi Aramco CEO Amin Nasser said on Thursday that Saudi Arabia is working to raise the East-West Pipeline network’s capacity to 10 million barrels per day to address disruptions to Middle Eastern energy supplies. Nasser said the company is conducting engineering studies to explore additional crude export routes and reduce the risk of disruptions in major shipping channels. The pipeline connects Saudi Arabia’s oil-producing Eastern Province with the Red Sea port of Yanbu and currently has a daily capacity of about 7 million barrels, around 2 million of which goes to domestic refineries. Nasser said Saudi Aramco currently exports crude through three main routes: the Strait of Hormuz, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, and Sidi Kerir on Egypt’s Mediterranean coast.
