I logged on to play today and made a post. Someone I knew from before said I hadn’t sent him his share, and it really pissed me off. I haven’t had much in the way of commissions for ages. When I do get any, it’s because I linked family members’ accounts and earned the rebates from trades I placed myself. I made a post about this back in December last year: “permanent auto 20.” Since the fees usually go into the futures account, if my account got liquidated back then, I’d end up owing other people money. So after I set it to automatic, the money wouldn’t go into my account; the system would pay it straight into the other person’s account.
Of the three dollars today, at least two came from rebates on trades I placed myself. I can’t change the permanent automatic setting at all. I can even record my screen in real time, and the platform can investigate if they want to see whether I can alter it. Even if I wanted to pocket the money, I’d need to have commissions to pocket. There’s been hardly any rebate activity in the backend for a long time. I started doing this last August, but by December I’d pretty much stopped. Over those few months, I hadn’t built up many active clients.
On top of that, most of my friends lost all their money later on, so there was even less activity in the backend. This year, I linked my grandma’s and my younger sister’s accounts and placed trades; over a few months, the two accounts generated just over six hundred dollars in rebates for me.
I used to want to make a living from referral rebates, but I had no skills and wasn’t good at placing trades, so I quickly moved on and went into another line of work. Honestly, after a few months, I made less from rebates overall than I did from my “Beng Laotou” gig.
