#股票财报季 Just as the Roadster took flight, Tesla’s earnings report poured a bucket of cold water on the market!

On one hand, the sci-fi flying sports car is taking the internet by storm; on the other, Q3 profit plunged 43%, operating margin fell to just 2.6%, and revenue stayed flat.
But this report also holds a striking contrast:
Without relying on carbon credit sales, automotive gross margin recovered against the trend, free cash flow turned positive ahead of expectations, and Tesla is sitting on a hefty $45.4 billion in cash.
FSD adoption in new vehicles across North America hit 75%; unsupervised Robotaxi miles surged, the Optimus humanoid robot entered production-line manufacturing, and energy storage orders reached a record high, with gross margins as high as 33%!

The risks are just as glaring: R&D spending is ramping up aggressively, and a peak in capital expenditures—tens of billions of dollars—is still ahead in Q4. At its core, today’s cash flow is being used to fund long-term bets on autonomous driving, robotics, and energy storage.

The flying Roadster is a romantic marketing myth. Whether Robotaxi and Optimus can become profitable is the real test that will determine Tesla’s valuation.

✅In a nutshell: The fundamentals remain resilient, but the payoff from its future-facing bets is much further off than many imagine.

👉Your take: Is Tesla overvalued on expectations for AI hardware, or is the market unfairly punishing it for a short-term drop in profits?
