🔍 Does being listed on Binance Alpha mean a spot listing is coming? Official support is pouring cold water on that idea again.
Today (October 22), I came across several replies on X from Binance’s official support account, @BinanceHelpDesk. They told several users essentially the same thing:
🔹 A project appearing on Binance Alpha does not automatically mean it will be listed on the spot market
🔹 Alpha is designed to showcase promising early-stage projects
🔹 Some of them “may” be evaluated for a spot listing later, but there are no guarantees
Why does support keep repeating this? Because people in the comments ask every day, “When will it be listed on spot?” and “Is Alpha a prelude to a Binance listing?” Plenty of groups also keep circulating “Binance Alpha listing is live” as a rallying cry to pump prices.
Take today’s popular AXIS as an example: according to 24-hour trading volume figures shared by an X user, Upbit had about $121 million, Uniswap about $23.3 million, Binance Alpha about $15 million, and Coinbase about $2.3 million (figures from the user’s screenshot, for reference only). For the same coin, where it trades and how much volume it has can vary greatly. Alpha is just one of the places to trade it.
My take: Alpha means “getting noticed”; a spot listing means “being selected.” There’s a whole evaluation process in between. Chasing a price spike because you think Alpha guarantees a spot listing is basically using your own position to bet on someone else’s expectations. If you see DMs or calls claiming “a Binance spot listing is imminent,” assume they’re marketing.
Have you ever bought a coin because you believed “Alpha = spot listing coming”? How did it turn out? Share in the comments 👇
