Bitcoin holder snapshot: analysis reports rising share of capital held by new investors

An October 22 on-chain analysis said the share of Bitcoin network capital attributed to new investors rose from an annual low of 6.6% on July 5 to 11.2% as of October 21. Analysts said this figure remains below the levels above 20% seen in 2024 and 2025.

The same report placed Bitcoin near US$82,300 and the average short-term holder cost basis at around US$75,100, implying aggregate unrealized profits of about 9.5% at the time of observation, compared with 16% on October 5. It noted 63 consecutive profitable days since August 20. These are group estimates and a historical snapshot, not the outcome for every holder or a live price. Capital share alone does not measure independently verified new fiat inflows; unrealized profits are not proceeds from a sale.
