Position watch: Whale opens a roughly US$10 million short position in GOLD

An October 22 monitoring report said a whale built roughly US$10 million in short exposure to GOLD over the previous three hours, after realizing profits from some crypto asset long positions. At the time of monitoring, the gold position showed an unrealized profit of around US$55,000, with an estimated liquidation price near US$7,247.20.

Before that change, the account was reportedly closing its ZEC and NEAR long positions with total realized trading profits of around US$1.74 million. Realized crypto gains are different from the unrealized profit on the still-open gold position. These figures describe one account at the time of observation, not its current position or a definitive prediction of gold’s direction.
