Many people who are new to Binance think “rebates” and “referrers” are the same thing. They are related, but they work in completely different ways.

Let’s start with rebates. They’re easy to understand: after you incur trading fees, a portion of those fees is returned to you based on the applicable rebate rate. So what determines how much you receive isn’t just the rebate rate—it also depends on how much in fees you actually generate.

Here’s a simple example:

The rebate rate is 20% in both cases, but if you generate just 10 USDT in trading fees in a month versus 1,000 USDT, the amount you ultimately receive will be completely different.

Having an invitation code doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll receive a fee rebate.

This is something many new users easily overlook. Being linked to an inviter through an invitation code or link during registration does not necessarily mean that the code provides a fee rebate for the invitee.

The rates, rebate methods, and rebate timing may vary across invitation channels. So what you should really check is whether your account has a referral relationship and whether that relationship includes a fee rebate.

What is a referral partner?

A referral partner can be understood as an independent rebate node. Once activated, your account will have its own referral dashboard and invitation code, and you’ll be able to view data related to the users you invite.

The biggest difference is that ordinary users receiving rebates are primarily “people who were invited.”

A referral partner, on the other hand, can become “someone who invites others.” By inviting other users with your own invitation code, you can earn additional income based on the fees those users generate. So being a referral partner isn’t simply about having a “higher rebate rate”—it gives you your own referral node.

Example of a referral partner dashboard

Once I become a referral partner, will my original account automatically receive rebates?

No. This is easy to misunderstand. Becoming a referral partner does not automatically change the referral relationship associated with your original account.

Whether your original account receives a rebate on its own fees still depends on whether it was already linked to an inviter.

If you want to earn trading fee rebates through your own referral partner node, you’ll need to use a separate new account that meets the requirements and link it using your referral partner invitation code.

So: becoming a referral partner ≠ automatically receiving rebates on fees from your original account.

Which should you choose: ordinary rebates or becoming a referral partner?

If you only trade occasionally and your fees are low, ordinary rebates are generally enough.

If your trading volume is relatively high, or you want to manage your referral relationships over the long term, becoming a referral partner can be more beneficial.

If you have a community or a team, or friends around you who trade, then in addition to using it yourself, you can also invite other users with your own code as a referral partner.

Simply put: ordinary rebates help reduce “your own trading fees.” Becoming a referral partner gives you “your own referral node, along with the ability to earn income from referrals.”

It’s best for new users to enter an invitation code when registering. If you’ve only recently registered and haven’t traded yet, you may still have some time to contact customer support and request to add an invitation code.

Users who have already traded should first check whether their account currently has a referral relationship, then determine based on their account status whether they can establish a new rebate relationship.

The right approach varies depending on the account, so we don’t recommend registering a new account again without checking first.

One final reminder: “a higher rebate” does not necessarily mean “more profit.” Rebates are always based on the fees you actually generate. The more frequently you trade and the higher your trading volume, the more important it is to pay attention to your fee costs.#返佣
