Kanye goes long on $ETH with on-chain leverage: A-list rapper plays DeFi looped lending—is he buying the dip halfway down?

On-chain analyst Ember (Ai Yi) has been tracking an address linked to Kanye, 0xdeA…a1d5c: it deposited 18,500 WETH into Aave and borrowed $25.01 million in stablecoins to add to its position, with a health factor of 1.51.

The timeline is even more striking: since September 29, the address has withdrawn 12,549.9 ETH from Binance in several transactions, worth about $32.04 million in total, buying more as the price fell. Its entry price was averaged down from $2,736 to $2,460, bringing the average to around $2,553.

Meanwhile, $ETH is currently trading around $2,477 (according to CoinStats data from early this morning), which means Kanye's long position is currently in the red. A health factor of 1.51 might look like a decent buffer, but if $ETH takes another leg down, the liquidation threshold will start knocking. Seven hours ago, he also transferred 5 million USDC to a linked address—unclear whether that was to top up collateral or for something else.

In short: there are no celebrity filters in crypto. Even an A-list star using leverage has to answer to the liquidation line. (According to the on-chain analyst; Kanye himself hasn't confirmed the position.)

Let's hear it in the comments: Team A—buying the dip at $2,553 takes guts; think big and wait for $5,000. Team B—with a 1.51 health factor, one more dip and we'll see an A-lister's liquidation livestream. Sound off!
