My first week in crypto, I thought I had it figured out. I didn't. A few of these mistakes cost me real money, so you don't have to repeat them.

5 Crypto Lessons

1. I bought because everyone was talking about it

A coin was all over my feed, so I jumped in. By the time I bought, the big move was already over.

Fix: If a coin is trending everywhere, you're usually late. Ask yourself why you're buying before you tap "Buy."

2. I went all in on one coin

I was so sure about one project that I put almost everything into it. One bad week taught me why that's risky.

Fix: Spread your money out. And never invest money you need for rent, bills, or emergencies.

3. I traded without a stop-loss

I told myself, "It'll come back." Sometimes it did. Sometimes it didn't. A small loss turned into a big one because I had no exit plan.

Fix: Decide your exit before you enter. Set a stop-loss and stick to it.

4. I used leverage too early

Futures looked like a shortcut to fast profits. It was a shortcut to fast losses. Leverage magnifies mistakes just as much as wins.

Fix: Learn spot trading first. If you try futures later, start small and understand liquidation before you risk a rupee.

5. I let emotions make the calls

Fear made me sell at the bottom. FOMO made me buy at the top. I was trading my mood, not a plan.

Fix: Write down simple rules (entry, exit, and how much you'll risk per trade), then follow them even when it feels uncomfortable.

The real lesson

Crypto doesn't punish you for not knowing everything. It punishes you for skipping the basics. Start small, protect your money first, and treat every loss as tuition.

This is my personal experience, not financial advice. Crypto is high-risk, so always do your own research. Moreover, using Binance without a Binance Referral ID is also a mistake to avoid.
