Over $1 billion has poured into spot ETF funds in just 3 days, but why is the price of $BTC still struggling around $82,745.5 at the time of writing?
The $1 billion figure sounds very impressive, but looking at the 3 previous major rallies, the market has always needed sustained net inflows of more than $200 million a day to trigger a sharp breakout. Since July 1, the actual average has only been around $86 million a day. Institutional accumulation is picking up, but deployment remains cautious and hasn’t been strong enough to confirm a lasting uptrend.
From a futures trading perspective, I think the biggest risk right now is rushing to FOMO into the news. Money is flowing in, but $BTC hasn’t decisively broken out of the resistance zone. A liquidation sweep in both directions could easily happen if liquidity dries up. At this point, I’m prioritizing position management, keeping my trading volume moderate, and watching to see whether ETF inflows can maintain their pace.
