What AI agents often lack isn’t a bigger model, but data sources they can trust. Is a price of $0.97 a bargain, or a sign of an impending depeg? Ordinary price feeds can’t tell you.
The Block exclusive, Oct. 21: Dataline, a decentralized data network for AI agents, disclosed a $10.6 million seed round. Lattice and Samsung-affiliated Dispersion Capital co-led the round, with participation from Symbolic Capital, Coinbase Ventures, Anagram, and Robinhood co-founder and CEO Vlad Tenev. Co-founder Nuo Shi said the round closed in April via a SAFE plus token warrants. The valuation was not disclosed, and investors received no board or observer seats.
Product: Unified access to on-chain and off-chain data, with AI scoring reliability, freshness, and consistency. It now covers around 50 data sources. The first “AI Data Launch” includes Hyperliquid, Polymarket, Kalshi, $BNB Chain, Base, Robinhood Chain, Sui, and TON. Developers on Base and Robinhood Chain can access it for free. The competitive landscape it names includes Chainlink, Pyth, The Graph, and Grass; it says it was designed natively for agents.
The token is planned to launch before the end of the year, for payments and access (it can also be staked in exchange for ongoing data access). The public sale is planned to use Uniswap Continuous Clearing Auction (CCA) on Base. Details will be announced “next week”; the team says it aims to make it the largest CCA on Base. It has not started charging fees yet. The funds will mainly go toward expanding data sources, strengthening validation, and branching out into robotics and training data.
Note: The funding round closed in April but was announced publicly in October. The sale size, allocation, and lockup terms have not been disclosed yet—don’t mistake a funding announcement for a launch-day announcement. Not investment advice.
