【Institutions have picked a side: IBIT alone scoops up $665 million in a day】

On October 19, U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs saw net inflows of $527 million in a single day, the highest since September 22. Sounds encouraging, right? But the details sting: all that money went to BlackRock’s IBIT, which took in $665 million in one day—a record for 2026. The other 11 ETFs got nothing that day, while Fidelity and Grayscale continued to bleed.

Now look at the other side: Ethereum ETFs saw net outflows of $103 million that day, and bled on 14 of the past 15 trading days, for a cumulative $1.12 billion. Even SOL slipped, losing $6.72 million.

So stop trotting out empty platitudes like “institutions are coming back.” The truth is that institutions have chosen between BTC and ETH: BTC has climbed back above its ETF cost-basis level of $81,500 and returned to a weekly high of $84,000, while ETH is still struggling below its moving averages. Money speaks louder than words—it only stands with the strong. Understand that, and you won’t be misled by headlines claiming “a broad-based rebound.”
