Study Notes | Private Keys and Addresses
① An Ethereum address is derived from the last 20 bytes of the Keccak-256 hash of a public key. It is written as 0x followed by 40 hexadecimal characters.
② Bitcoin and Ethereum private keys are essentially 256-bit random numbers, and both use the secp256k1 elliptic curve.
③ After copying an address, double-check the first few, last few, and some middle characters—don’t just check the beginning and end.
