The “balance” displayed in a Bitcoin wallet—is there really such a number on-chain?
First, a definition: Ethereum uses an account-based model. The blockchain directly records each account’s balance, and a transfer deducts funds from one account and adds them to another.
How it works: The Bitcoin balance shown in a wallet is calculated by adding up all the UTXOs that belong to you. There is no “balance” field on the blockchain.
$BTC uses the UTXO model. The balance shown in the wallet is actually the sum of multiple unspent outputs. Current price: 82881.68.
Size your position according to your risk tolerance, and leave yourself room to maneuver.
