SOL today is more about watching the upgrade than the chart: Alpenglow has launched on mainnet, giving network fundamentals a bullish boost.
SOL is currently around $105.3, down about 0.8% over the past 24 hours. The intraday high was around $109.2 and the low around $105.0, with price still grinding within a narrow $105–$109 range. CoinDesk reported that Solana’s biggest consensus upgrade, Alpenglow, activated this Wednesday (around epoch 1064), aiming to reduce finality time to roughly 150 milliseconds and significantly lower validator voting fees. U.S. spot SOL ETFs saw combined net inflows of about $600,000 on October 21 (Farside, MSOL), breaking the previous streak of consecutive net outflows. The amount was small, but the direction has turned positive.
There’s also an FOMC meeting next week, so in the short term it’ll still move with the broader market. Which do you think is more likely: holding above 110 first, or continuing to build momentum around 105 while waiting for the upgrade to take effect?
