📊$BTC Hold above 83K, bulls and bears are all waiting for the key strike
$BTC is currently trading around $83,000, up about 0.5% over the past 24 hours, with repeated intraday tests of the $82,000 level quickly bought back. $ETH is hovering around $2,450, down slightly by about 0.2% over 24 hours, and is still capped by the psychological $2,500 level.
From a technical perspective:
🔹 BTC: The closing price is above SMA20 (83241) and SMA50 (81743), with RSI14 around 56.8, showing relative strength; however, MACD is still in a bearish alignment. The good news is that the histogram has been contracting continuously, indicating weakening momentum. Initial resistance above is the Bollinger upper band at 86213 and the September high at 87279; initial support below is SMA20 at 83241, followed by 81743.
🔹 ETH: The closing price is still below SMA20 (2522) and SMA50 (2552), with a bearish MACD; RSI14 is around 46, neutral. To turn stronger, it must first reclaim 2522; support below is seen around the Bollinger lower band at 2302.
Capital flows are worth watching: spot ETFs once saw a single-day net inflow of $527 million on Monday (with BlackRock's IBIT contributing the bulk), the largest day recently, but it quickly fell back to just over $20 million. This shows institutional buying is still there, but it is very selective and concentrated in time — following the flow is more important than following the existing holdings.
Bears are also building positions: around $2 billion in short positions are clustered in the $84,000–$85,000 range. If bulls can force their way through $85,000 in one go, short covering could directly push price to test the Bollinger upper band; otherwise, if the weekly chart breaks below the 82,200 area, former support will turn into resistance and the correction will deepen.
The Fear and Greed Index has rebounded to 68, entering the greed zone. Sentiment is improving, but technical divergence remains — a classic eve of direction selection.
What do you think this time: will it first surge to 85K and squeeze shorts, or first retest 82K before building momentum again? Share your thoughts in the comments 👇
