ETH whales are splitting: a 9-year veteran whale exits completely, while leveraged whales keep buying the dip 🐋
📊 Current price: $ETH , around $2,451 (24h -0.2%)
👉 Latest monitoring from on-chain analysts @ai_9684xtpa / Lookonchain:
🔴 Seller: An OG whale who held for 9 years, with a cost basis of just $18.82 and a 151x gain, deposited their final 1,000 ETH to an exchange at around $2,874
🟢 Buyer 1: A large investor has been using Aave to loop long positions since late September, then added another 9,000 ETH. They collateralized 18,500 WETH and borrowed $25.01 million in stablecoins, bringing their average price down to $2,553, with a health factor of 1.51
🟢 Buyer 2: An address linked to Hyperliquid holds an ETH long position of around 109,000 ETH, with an average price of $2,543.6 and an unrealized loss of around $9.69 million
⚠️ Key point: Long positions are concentrated around $2,540–$2,550, and the current price is slightly below that cost zone. Around $2,460 is the area where the looping whale may add to their position. A decisive break below it would increase pressure on leveraged longs. On the other hand, reclaiming $2,550 would be the first step toward longs breaking even.
💡 My take: The veteran whale taking profits is a change of hands, not necessarily a bearish signal. But the more concentrated leveraged buying gets, the bigger the volatility. Don’t blindly follow trades—first consider your own position and stop-loss.
