Nasdaq +1.05%—tech stocks are making a real comeback.

10/21: All three major U.S. indexes closed higher. The Dow rose 0.69% to 52,856.09, the S&P 500 gained 0.58% to 7,757.17 (its third straight day of gains), and the Nasdaq closed at 26,702.86. $SPY closed at 773.09 (+0.53%), while $QQQ closed at 725.20.

Semiconductors led the gains, up 1.97%. Super Micro raised its guidance and surged 9.55%. Communication services lagged: AT&T fell 6.45%, and Netflix dropped more than 5% after its earnings report.

The biggest overnight catalyst was SpaceX: it posted its first quarterly profit, with Q3 revenue of $14.6 billion (+161%), and its stock gained 7.79%. Musk confirmed that the boards of the two companies are discussing a merger. Expectations of FOMC rate hikes have cooled, and risk appetite is soaring.

The attached chart shows the daily price action for $QQQ , with support at 715 and resistance at 730 marked.

Crypto is benefiting too: Tesla is up another 1.3% after hours. In the Asian session, watch to see whether tech stocks follow suit.

I’m leaning bullish: if $SPY holds above 773, it could move higher. I’ll admit I’m wrong if the Nasdaq gives back half its gains. Are you adding to your tech positions, or waiting until earnings season is over before making a move?
