A quick explainer: What exactly is a hash, and why can’t blockchain do without it?
It’s virtually impossible to recover the original input from the hash value of a secure hash function, and it’s also very difficult to find two different inputs that produce the same hash.
Proof of work works because hash results can’t be predicted in advance. The only way to find a hash that meets the difficulty requirement is to keep trying.
$BTC mining is essentially the repeated calculation of SHA-256 hashes to find a result that meets the difficulty requirement.
Markets are always full of surprises, so decide in advance what to do if your prediction is wrong.
