Genius Yield gradually winds down operations and offers direct access to contracts
Reports on October 22 indicate that Cardano DeFi protocol Genius Yield is gradually winding down operations. Lars Brünjes released Genius Zero, an open-source browser application licensed under the MIT License that lets users interact directly with smart contracts to withdraw staked assets, cancel DEX orders, and claim rewards without relying on Genius Yield’s backend. The application retrieves on-chain data through Blockfrost.
Withdrawing staked capital does not depend on the co-signing service, but rewards still require a service personally operated by Brünjes. Current order-book fees continue to go to an address controlled by Genius Yield. Changing them requires signatures from three of the four original founders, and the necessary authorization may not have been obtained. The app’s availability does not mean that all operational dependencies or fee arrangements have been eliminated.
