On one hand, it’s up just 2.62% over 24 hours, with the current price at 0.000451—almost exactly in line with the mark price of 0.0004508. On the other, the $MEW 4-hour funding rate has fallen to -0.5299%.
I’m watching the funding rate more closely than this small gain. Shorts are crowded in, and at this negative rate, short sellers are the ones paying. There are about 239 minutes left until the next settlement. 24-hour trading volume is $59.21 million—not exactly thin, yet the price is still stuck around 0.00045.
I’m just watching to see whether this wave of position costs can push 0.0004508 out of place. Do you think the shorts will cave before settlement, or keep holding on?
