🚨 White House makes high-profile push against crypto scams, while TRUMP coin is down 93% on the same day

On October 21, the White House’s anti-crypto-scam campaign finally got underway. Trump appeared alongside the FBI director and attorney general, saying they had made a “very big dent” in overseas scam networks.

The official results:
🔹 More than 10,000 targeted Americans have been warned this year
🔹 At least $1.6 billion in losses prevented
🔹 Hundreds of fake crypto websites shut down, with action taken against overseas scam compounds

But the comments section was heated. Some applauded, while others brought up a Reuters investigation: as of April 2026, crypto projects linked to the Trump family had generated about $2.3 billion in revenue, while holders were left with losses. Market data shows OFFICIAL TRUMP has fallen more than 93% from its peak, trading around $1.80 with a market cap of about $422 million. Related coins like MELANIA have also slumped sharply.

My take:
Fighting fraud is a good thing in itself. Behind that $1.6 billion are the retirement savings of many ordinary people. But we need to distinguish between two things: scammers stealing your money is a crime; losing money by chasing a celebrity coin is market risk. No one is going to come and “prevent your losses” in the latter case.

So real protection still starts with you: don’t trust strangers offering trade tips, treat celebrity coins as entertainment-only bets, and check token concentration and unlock schedules before buying.

What do you think deserves the toughest crackdown: overseas pig-butchering scams, or all these celebrity-issued coins? Let’s talk in the comments 👇
