Meta these past two days: It made $64.6 billion in earnings, then turned around and paid $9.9 billion in fines; before it could even catch its breath, a New Mexico court slapped it with another $25 billion—it's making money slower than it's paying fines.

The details: 52 states teamed up to sue Meta for harming teens. The total settlement in August was $18.59 billion; this quarter, it’s booking $9.89 billion upfront. Operating profit was cut in half, margins fell from 40% to 20%, and EPS came in at $3.83. Zuck’s exact words: “The personal superintelligence milestone has been reached. AI investment is paying off, and the core business is strong.” Translation: no slowdown in spending—the full-year AI infrastructure budget is locked in at $135–145 billion, not a penny less.

The wildest part: the stock rose 2% after hours. Wall Street’s logic: the fine is settled, uncertainty is gone, so that’s a positive. If the Nasdaq gets a lift, even $BTC 8.4万 can catch a little shine.

As for the $25 billion, that’s from the Cambridge Analytica scandal a decade ago: data from 87 million users was exposed. The judge could originally have ordered $219 billion, but showed mercy and cut it to a tenth. Meta says it will appeal.
