$META 's earnings report is out. Can revenue growth cover AI capital expenditures?
META's earnings report is indeed very strong. It shows that META's AI investments are driving sufficiently strong revenue growth. However, revenue growth has not yet fully demonstrated that it can adequately cover AI capital expenditures—that's a potential concern!
Earlier, I said we should focus on four key factors in the earnings report:
a. Revenue growth: very strong
b. AI capital expenditures: extremely high
c. Free cash flow (FCF) is being squeezed and declining due to capital spending
d. 2027 guidance: the market expects capital expenditures to rise even further
Overall, META's Q3 earnings report further demonstrates that its massive AI investments are effectively translating into advertising and revenue growth. However, capital expenditures are still increasing faster than revenue and operating cash flow, meaning AI investment has yet to prove that it can support free cash flow.
Capital expenditure growth in 2027, depreciation pressures, and the recovery of free cash flow all remain potential risks. So, while this earnings report is positive for META in the short term, risks remain over the medium to long term. Of course, these risks are not set in stone. They may be risks facing the entire AI industry in the future—in other words, what we call the risk of an AI bubble. #股票财报季
